Speaker 1
Good morning.

Speaker 2
Good morning.

Speaker 1
My name is Carl.

Speaker 2
nice to meet you.

Speaker 1
Hi, Angel. Glad you could make it today.

Speaker 2
Morning.

Speaker 2
you

Speaker 1
So you're applying for a daycare worker at Mother Goose Daycare Center. So we just have a few questions we want to ask you just so that we can kind of get an idea of how you would work with our company.

Speaker 2
Okay.

Speaker 1
First thing I'd like to ask is why do you think we should hire you?

Speaker 2
I think you should hire me because I have three years of experience of work with children birth both volunteer and paid work. I also enjoy working with kids and teaching them new things. I also like the environment of working in a child care center. I enjoy interacting with my co -workers and the parents as well. I am also CPR and first aid certified which you can really come in handy.

Speaker 1
Okay, awesome. Well, you seem to be pretty well experienced. What would you say is your greatest strength?

Speaker 2
My greatest strength is that I take initiative with the kids I work with. Not only do I interact and engage with them in the classroom, I also go to their games if they have one, or something school related. I not only am with them in school, I also help them outside of school as well.

Speaker 1
Okay. And what about your greatest weakness? I know that's hard for people to talk about, but I think if you can evaluate yourself honestly that way, then that would help us.

Speaker 2
UK

Speaker 2
My greatest weakness is commanding the attention of the room. It's hard for me to speak up or be loud. To discipline. To me it's almost like pulling teeth. It's very hard. I'm more reserved in that manner So I'm working on it, trying to be more assertive because kids do need structure. But that's something that I am working on.

Speaker 1
Okay, just being assertive? Yes.

Speaker 1
Thank you.

Speaker 1
Okay. Alright, well, what accomplishments has given you the most satisfaction in your life? I mean, of all the things that you've experienced, what would you say are some accomplishments that you're proud of?

Speaker 2
Um.

Speaker 1
Um...

Speaker 2
I would say to relate to a child. Because I know my first job it was this girl and we had to go to her school and pick her up. And she was always being bullied in the center because she was the oldest and she was very outspoken she was unique she was very quirky and the boys there will always um pick on her and make fun of her and i'll make her cry and it's like the adults will say well what was how the boys stopped but her feelings will still be hurt she would still feel left out so um i took the initiative to personally talk to her and tell her how I was bullied at a young age too. It hurts now, but eventually,

Speaker 1
Thank you.

Speaker 2
it will get better. Then I told her that I liked her for who she is. I actually invited her in my classroom at the time to help me out with the babies. To help get stuff for if I need a diaper, get me a diaper. Stuff like that. Just to get her away from the kids who were bothering her.

Speaker 1
you

Speaker 1
And how did she respond to that?

Speaker 2
she liked it because every time I saw her she would run to me and be like Ms. Angel, hey Leah, how you doing? And even when I had to go back to school I got her contact information so I could stay in contact with her.

Speaker 1
Positive.

Speaker 1
Thank you.

Speaker 1
Okay, fantastic.

Speaker 2
Fantastic.

Speaker 1
What would you say motivates you to put forth your greatest effort?

Speaker 2
The kids, honestly. Because if you come to work tired or upset, you can't go to the classroom with that type of attitude. Because you can be mad at something at home or something else, and the kids say something and you take out your anger on them. It's not fair to them. So basically you have to come into the classroom with a new mindset. Just breathe, push it aside and start over. Because the kids, they're not going to understand what did I do or why she's not as cheery and happy as she's going to think it's their fault.

Speaker 1
Right.

Speaker 1
Um.

Speaker 1
All right.

Speaker 2
Thank you.

Speaker 2
you

Speaker 1
you

Speaker 2
you

Speaker 1
Well, I think we've covered just about all the areas that I'm interested in. So, thank you for your time. I appreciate you.

Speaker 2
Bye -bye. Thank you.
